LIGHTNING AND THUNDER   Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. ( Exodus 19:16 NKJV)        There's a behaviour pattern we observed in our parents and the older generation during thunderstorms. When a bright lightning struck, they quickly made a loud, double smacking sound with their lips. Although no plausible explanation is attributed to this myth, it appears that it is a purposeful act of safety, since it is common knowledge that thunder can strike individuals during heavy thunderstorm!   THE RAINBOW  "I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh."   Genesis 9:13-15       As children, we were excited to see a rainbow appear in the distant sky, so we spent long time gazing at it, wondering where was its origin and its landing. I even told myself that one day when I grew older, I would venture to find out the beginning and the end of the rainbow!      The rainbow is a sign of God's redeeming grace and mercy.
