THE OLD ORDER CHANGETH...

"The old order changeth yielding place to new And God fulfills himself in many ways Lest one good custom should corrupt the world...More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of." (Alfred Lord Tennyson).
Lord Tennyson wrote the famous satirical poetic piece 'King Arthur and the Knights of the Roundtable',  as an old English story of power interplay among the royalty. The author clearly illustrates that however magnificent and worthy any institution of power might have been, it is only appropriate in God's divine plan that it should pass away and give way to a newer institution because any institution which lives on and on will only become irrelevant or even corrupt, thus harmful to society. This is why empires rise and fall, kingdoms come and go; the only kingdom that will endure is the Kingdom of God and of His Christ.
The bible tells us, 'Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage. So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham...' (Exodus 2:23-24 NKJV). Many of us have heard the saying that the only certain thing is change. No situation is permanent. For over 400 years, the children of Jacob were relegated to slavery, bondage and oppression. Eventually the Almighty God changed history and delivered them. The point is they did not just sit back to earn their deliverance; they kept crying out to God and a time came that He answered them even though it was long. In the same manner today God remembers His covenant with those who earnestly beseech His mercies, for He had said, "...The mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord , who has mercy on you" (Is. 54:10). Even though God had created the world for change, He does not change, and His mercies endure forever. He is the Unchangeable Changer. He says, "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land" (II Chronicles 7:14). God is set to change Nigeria if we are set to change our hearts. He will hear our cries and restore our land. Terrorism, corruption, greed, violence, political, tribal and religious disharmony will become evils of the past. A new nation will emerge, with peace and prosperity like Israel under King Solomon. Nigeria will become like the legendary El Dorado, the much sought after land of gold!
