BLESSEDNESS OF WORSHIP

Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you...I will give you a full life span. (Exodus 23:25-26 NIV).

In my newest book MIRIAM, a teenage girl with hidden singing talent was unwittingly discovered in a remote village. Her mentor converted her, brought her up in the fear of God, groomed and educated her till she graduated and became a youth leader and worship minister. She strove harder still till she became an international youth star in God's worship.
My underscore in the book was the girl's unwavering love for God and His worship and how God rewarded her with great fame and fortune. The book aims to encourage the young and gifted to channel their music talents towards God's rewarding service..

The Psalmist proclaims, 'Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.' (Ps. 67:5-6). Every time we worship God truly, we are blessing Him, and by blessing Him, we are invoking His blessings on our lives. 'Whatever good thing any man does for God the same he shall receive from Him' (Eph. 6:8). His ground begins to yield such increase that ultimately his enemies envy him.

Awe-struck by the sheer demonstration of God's might in the great flood, Noah offered a huge clean sacrifice when the flood ceased and God blessed humanity with the rainbow Covenant (Gen. 8:20-22). Abraham acceded to God's command to sacrifice his beloved son on an altar of worship; God rewarded him with blessings that his descendants still enjoy till now (Gen. 22:16-18).
Led by Moses and then Miriam, the children of Israel offered sacrifice of lips to God after crossing the Red Sea to freedom. In quick succession thereafter, God wrought great miracles that sustained them in the wilderness (Ex. 15,16,17). And Paul and Silas, rather than bemoan their incarceration in the Phillipian dungeon, sang hymns to God. God set them loose by His mighty hand (Acts 16:25-26). Worshipfulness births blessedness.

Blessedness is the reward from true worship of God. Bible scholar Phil Johnson wrote, 'True worship must, above all, aim to please God...If you truly seek to worship in spirit and in truth, if your worship flows from a heart of love for God, it will produce in you a heavenly joy and delight. You will be blessed as you bless God from a pure heart.' A true worship session, whether in church or in the individual closet, should first bless God, then God, when blessed, brings His presence, and His presence commands untold blessings on the worshiper.

MIRIAM (From Grass To Grace)

MIRIAM is a transformation account. It is the story of the refinement of a plain village girl from a raw to high quality, from crude to top grade purity.
